Clarke & Lewis UTB CL-PM-101 Hydraulic Ferrule Preset Machine

The Clarke & Lewis PM-101, item number UTB CL-PM-101, is a hydraulic ferrule preset machine for flareless tube fittings. It presets MS21922 flareless sleeves onto aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium tubing across a range of wall thicknesses, so each fitting is ready for final assembly.

How it works. The tube is supported on a mandrel matched to its ID and held in a holding die, while a compression die drives the sleeve onto the tube under hydraulic force. Preset force is adjustable from 250 to 30,000 lb to suit tube size, material and wall. A 5 hp, 1,800 rpm hydraulic drive powers the machine from 230/460 VAC three-phase.

Why preset. Presetting seats the sleeve and sets its bite into the tube before the fitting is installed. Final assembly goes faster, because the sleeve no longer has to be swaged during installation, and results are more consistent than setting sleeves by hand. It’s great for:
