Clarke & Lewis UTB CL-2SD Tube End Finishing Machine

The Clarke & Lewis CL-2SD, item number UTB CL-2SD, is a compact benchtop tube end finishing machine for squaring, deburring, beading and flaring. It squares, deburrs and flares tube from 1/8″ to 2″ OD and forms beads from 7/16″ to 1-1/2″ OD.

How it works. Heat-treated alloy steel jaws hold the tube while the spindle-mounted tool works the end. Jaws can be closed manually or pneumatically on 80 to 120 psi shop air. The spindle is available at a fixed 600 or 1,500 rpm, or variable from 0 to 600 or 0 to 1,500 rpm, so speed can be matched to the work. The standard machine runs on 115 VAC single-phase, with 230/460 V single- or three-phase available. A cabinet stand, velocity damper and automatic foot switch are optional.

Where it fits. At 20″ x 22″ and about 300 lb, the CL-2SD fits on a bench and plugs into standard shop power. It’s great for:

• Beading tube ends for coolant, air and fuel hose connections
• Squaring and deburring cut tube before bending, brazing or assembly
• Maintenance shops and MRO stations doing end prep in-house

Tooling. Each operation and tube size uses its own tooling. UTB carries flare dies, bead dies, bead rollers, bead arbors, bead tips, and squaring and deburring blades. Include tube OD, wall thickness, material and the operations you need when you request a quote for the UTB CL-2SD.
