This used Proto-1 RAM-70 is a 70-ton, 7-position progressive ram end forming machine with integrated tube cut-off, built in 2002. It processes tube and pipe from 0.125″ to 7.0″ in diameter with wall thicknesses from 0.020″ to 0.120″.
The machine includes tube cut-off capability for parts after bending, producing burr-free cuts that reduce secondary finishing.
The RAM-70 supports a wide range of end form operations, including:
- Offset expanding and tube reducing
- Swaging, flaring, and beading (including large bead)
- Coping, notching, and slotting
- Piercing and hole punching
- Trim/form, bending, and spline forming
Clamping and forming are driven by separate 70-ton hydraulic cylinders: a vertical clamp cylinder (8″ bore, 18″ stroke) and a horizontal ram cylinder (8″ bore, 14″ stroke). Operator safety is provided by Minisafe light curtains. Cycle time depends on tooling and material.
